Printable Mary Garden Markers
There is something profound about the glory that flowers and that Mary “the flower of the rarest” gives to the Lord by their existence. In the simplest and most beautiful way, by being who they are, they give Him praise. It is a joy to walk in a Mary garden or sit on ground and pray in it, combining the words of your heart with the praises of the flowers and Our Lady as you worship the Lord together!
This thought is what led me to create 10 Mary Garden Markers with hymns on them.
In my previous post, I explain in detail 10 Marian flowers . And with these flower name tags, I have created an easy way to remember each flowers meaning. As I was making each label, I found myself singing specific hymns that related to the words in the name.
Each hymn felt fitting and perhaps providential.
So, I added the hymns to the back of each Flower Marker.
I love the idea of having hymns scattered throughout my Mary garden. It leads me to sing the words written on these cards while I’m in the garden. And since having them, my daughter has taken special trips to the Mary garden specifically to sing these songs.

How to Make the Mary Garden Markers
After printing, cut each label out along the dotted line and fold the paper in half so the name is on the front and the hymn is on the back. Then, you will want to laminate them to make them weatherproof. But before doing that, you may want to consider inserting a stick or skewer in between the folded paper. This way, the stake you will use to put it in the ground will stay in place without covering any of the words.
If you don’t have access to a laminator, you can use packing tape. First, lay a piece of packing tape sticky side up, then stick the printed label to tape, then lay a second piece of tape on top. Seal it using a credit card to press out any air bubbles. The cut the excess “lamination”. This should make it water proof. When I was testing it, I left the packing tape laminated paper in a bowl of water overnight. It remained sealed and the paper stayed dry!
Another option for laminating is to buy these.
Your options for securing it in the garden are to attach the garden marker to skewers, popsicle sticks, clothes pins, or punch a hole and tie it to the plant with twine. My personal favorite has been using the wooden chopsticks we get from Chinese take-out.
Finally, place them in the garden and lift your sweet voice to the Lord as you tend to his beautiful creation!
