So, I’ve always disliked how food blogs make you scroll through a lot of words before you get to the recipe. I figured, I’d keep it simple so here is my apple butter recipe:

Allie’s Apple Butter

Married & a House | October 2020

  • Prep time:10 minutes

  • Cook time: 6+ hours

  • Servings: Fills a 32 oz jar

Ingredients:

  • 8 apples, peeled and cored

  • 1 orange

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Wash, peel, & core apples then put them into a crockpot.

  2. Juice the orange and add it to the crockpot along with all the other ingredients.

  3. Cook on low for 6+ hours. I like to set mine for 10 hours and let it cook through the night. It is a wonderful smell to wake up to!

  4. Use an immersion blender (or a regular blender) and blend it until all the apple chunks have turned to butter.

  5. ENJOY!
