Plan the Year Checklist

This New Year, I’m trying something different. I am planning as much of the year as possible now, while the motivation is high.

I tend to be the kind of person who is highly motivated at the start and then burns out after a few weeks or months. My planners usually start out beautiful and end up neglected. Is anyone else this way???

This year, I decided to plan the ENTIRE YEAR at the start of the new year. I decided to do all the work now, to take the pressure off of planning the rest of the year. Practically speaking, this is what I mean…

•Adding all the major events ahead of time.
•Having planning conversations with my husband.
•Being proactive with planning our weekend activities.
•Streamlining meal planning and grocery shopping.
•Making a manageable routine cleaning list.
•Scheduling family deep cleaning days
•Planning monthly mom and dad retreat days, and family prayer routines

•Deciding your families prayer routines and planning liturgical celebrations

•Planning date nights
AND MORE.

I created a Planner Checklist to help me Plan My Entire Year at once. This checklist is a great resource for the Catholic Homemaker as it includes items for family schedules, prayer routines, and liturgical living celebrations!

If you decide to “Plan the Year” with me, the most important thing to keep in mind with this checklist is flexibility! There are many unknowable ways schedules are prone to change but I am finding it still helps to have an idea before the month begins. If this is hard for you, write in erasable pen!
